About Us
– About Us –
We founded Melbees in early 2016 with the intent of creating natural products, that follows our philosophy of natural healthy living. We believe that our customers should know at all times not only what they are putting on their skin, but what they are supporting while they do so.
We (Melissa & Ryan) have been friends for over ten years. We knew from the onset of our relationship that we wanted to create something special, something that would help others, and something that would grow. With Melissa's natural love of cosmetics and Ryan's aptitude towards design and development it felt natural to bring Melbees into fruition. We hope you enjoy shopping with us!
– Philanthropy –
A portion of all Melbees proceeds directly benefits organizations dedicated to helping our natural wildlife. During the checkout process (on our payment page), you can choose which organization you would like your order to benefit.
– We donate to the following organizations –
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world.
Their organization was founded on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend anti-cruelty mission across the country, they are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. They are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and are proud to boast more than 2 million supporters across the country.
The ASPCA’s mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh in 1866, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” You can read more about the ASPCA HERE.
Stray Cat Alliance educates and empowers the community to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy and valued. We are building a no kill nation, one stray at a time.
Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are cared for, all kittens and domesticated cats are in loving homes and there is a healthy, but declining sterilized feral cat population. The feral cat colonies that do remain are monitored, fed, and treated medically when needed by their caregivers. You can read more about the Stray Cat Alliance HERE.
The Honeybee Conservancy/Anthophilous is a 501c3 non-profit established in 2009 in response to the bee crisis. Our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of bees and to inspire people and communities to act as stewards for bees and their natural environment. We are a project of Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE), a registered public charity, which provides non-profit status. You can read more about the Honeybee Conservancy HERE.
The Farm Sanctuary aims to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassionate vegan living.
Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming and encourage a new awareness and understanding about farm animals. Today, Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s largest and most effective farm animal rescue and protection organization. We have rescued thousands of animals and cared for them at our sanctuaries in Watkins Glen, New York; Northern California (Orland); and the Los Angeles area. At Farm Sanctuary, these animals are our friends, not our food. We educate millions of people about their plight and the effects of factory farming on our health and environment. We advocate for laws and policies to prevent suffering and promote compassion, and we reach out to legislators and businesses to bring about institutional reforms.
